Gemma’s journey into skincare began at 16 when she completed an NVQ in Beauty Therapy. Early experience at Harvey Nichols Medi Spa ignited her passion for skin, especially after working with advanced imaging technology that revealed its deeper layers. She went on to train intensively with Decléor at an award-winning spa, fostering a deep interest in essential oils and holistic skincare.

After gaining valuable insights from globally renowned skincare brands, Gemma pursued a teaching qualification and began training others in NVQ Beauty Therapy. Teaching remains a passion she hopes to revisit in the future.

Alongside teaching, Gemma built a loyal client base, eventually working with a renowned aesthetic doctor, learning cutting-edge techniques, including the use of the Collagen Wave machine. This expertise, combined with her growing clientele, led her to establish her own salon. Her success in retailing skincare products online grew rapidly, and she secured UK distribution rights for leading US brands, eventually transitioning to focus fully on her online business.

In time, Gemma launched her own brand, Witches Lab, which began with aromatherapy balms and has expanded into a full skincare range. To bring her vision to life, Gemma undertook extensive training, including cosmetic formulation, EU regulations, organic skincare, and advanced aromatherapy.

Today, Gemma and her team manufacture many products in-house at their Hertfordshire warehouse. To meet growing demand, she also partners with a UK-based lab for large-scale production, ensuring efficiency without compromising quality.

With over 15 years’ experience in skincare, formulation, and compliance, Gemma expanded into wholesale private label products, creating bespoke solutions for the beauty industry. Her expertise has helped brands reach high-street stores, global markets, and hundreds of salons across the UK.

Gemma is a mum to four-year-old Libby and enjoys horse riding, Pilates, dog walks with Millie, reading, and cooking for friends.
